How To Tackle Tough Plumbing Problems

A water heater is an important part of the house, but it's an appliance that can be easy to forget about, until a problem arises that is. Water heating leaking can be the first sign of water heater problems. If you notice water on the floor around the base of your water heater you should switch the heater off immediately and call a plumber to come and diagnose the problem.

There are a number of water heater problems that can occur.

bp- Lack of Heated Water
bp- Insufficient Hot Water
bp- Rotten Egg Smell
bp- Water Colored Like Rust
bp- Water Leaking From The Base
bp- Low Rumbling Noise
bp- Popping Noises
bp- High-Pitched Squealing

The first course of action that you should take is to turn off the water heater. It's also important to shut the water off so that the water heater is not being fed with water.

Water heaters function on electricity or gas and it can be extremely dangerous to let any problem that arise, continue. Calling a plumber as soon as you become aware of a problem will ensure that the problem gets dealt with properly. You should not attempt to repair your water heater yourself, as this can antagonize the problem and make it more difficult for a plumber to repair the problem.

Unfortunately, water heaters don't always present signs of a problem at a convenient time. Having to shut your water heater off can be extremely inconvenient, especially during the colder seasons. In this situation you might need to call an emergency plumber to come to your home outside of business hours. Although emergency plumbers can be expensive, they are very convenient and professional. The cost of the emergency plumber is much less than the cost of having to reinstall the whole water heater.

Water heater problem leaking is not the only way to recognize a pending problem with your water heater unit. A bad smell, similar to a rotten egg can be a sign that the water heater is not functioning correctly, or that there is a problem with the pipe filtration.

Discolored water is another clear sign that something needs to be replaced in the water heater system. Rust colored water one such example.

By far the most common indicator that your water heater is in need of repair is unusual sounds. A banging is sometimes a sign that the internal parts of the unit have become lose. A high whinnying sound might be an indication that the unit's thermostat or pressure system needs repair or replacement. You may also hear a low, rumbling noise, which can indicate a problem with the tank itself.

Whatever signs lead you notice a problem, make sure you don't ignore it. It can be easy to let a problem with a water heater slide until it becomes bigger, but be aware that it's dangerous to leave a water heater problem unattended. Water heaters can burst or blow up, and anyone near the water heater at that moment could be severely injured.

Choose a professional plumber to help you with your water heater problems to ensure that they are dealt with correctly and safely.
